Each season, players from respective D-League teams are called up to the NBA and subsequently signed by a team. In total, 19 D-Fenders have earned a total of 26 GATORADE Call-Ups to NBA teams:

Jeff Ayres (2015-16)

  • Earned an NBA Call-Up to the Los Angeles Clippers on March 16, 2016, the 23rd in franchise history
  • Averaged 16.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in only two games with Los Angeles prior to the call-up
  • Has career averages of 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds with the D-Fenders
  • Veteran of 237 career NBA games, winning an NBA Championship with the 2014 San Antonio Spurs
Vander Blue (2014-15)

  • Signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on April 13, 2015, becoming the 21st call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 23.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 2014-15
  • Is L.A.’s career leader in points, field goals made, free throws made and rebounds
  • Owns the NBA D-League record for free throws in a single season, making 349 in 2015-16; Tied for the franchise single-game record with seven steals; Also owns L.A.’s single-game records for points (43) and free throws made (16) in a playoff game; Is the D-Fenders all-time leader in points and rebounds
  • A three-time NBA D-League All-Star selection, the most by a single player in D-Fenders history
  • Ranks among the top-five in NBA D-League history for career points
Jabari Brown (2014-15)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Los Angeles Lakers on March 10, 2015, becoming the 19th call-up in team history
  • Averaged 24.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 39 games prior to the call-up
  • Has career averages of 23.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists with the D-Fenders
  • Was an NBA D-League All-Star and All D-League Third Team selection in 2014-15
Joe Crawford (2008-09)

  • Signed with the New York Knicks on March 26, 2009, becoming the third NBA Call-Up in franchise history
  • Averaged 20.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 43 games prior to the call-up
  • Owns career averages of 19.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists with the D-Fenders
  • Is among the top-10 in D-Fenders history for career points and assists
  • Was a one-time NBA D-League All-Star and All D-League Honorable Mention selection in 2009
Courtney Fortson (2011-12)

  • Received a pair of call-ups from the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets in 2011-12, becoming the sixth and ninth call-ups in team history, respectively
  • Averaged 17.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 29 games for the D-Fenders in 2011-12
  • Owns career averages of 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists in Los Angeles
  • Swiped seven steals on March 16, 2013 at Texas, still tied for a D-Fenders single-game record; Also is among the top-10 in D-Fenders history for career points, assists and steals
  • Was a one-time NBA D-League All-Star, All D-League Defensive Second Team pick and All D-League Second Team selection
Jamaal Franklin (2014-15)

  • Signed with the Denver Nuggets on April 12, 2015, becoming the 20th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 19.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 21 games with the D-Fenders in 2014-15
  • Has career averages of 18.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists with Los Angeles
  • Tallied three triple-doubles with the D-Fenders, the most in franchise history
Gerald Green (2011-12)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the New Jersey Nets on Feb. 27, 2012, becoming the eighth call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 19.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 22 games for L.A. in 2011-12
  • Connected on eight three-pointers on Feb. 6, 2012, matching a still-standing D-Fenders single-game record
  • Was the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion and one-time NBA D-League All-Star Game MVP in 2012
  • Is a veteran of more than 500 career NBA games
Justin Harper (2015-16, 2016-17)

  • Has earned a pair of NBA Call-Ups to the Detroit Pistons (2015-16) and Philadelphia 76ers (2016-2017), becoming the 22nd and 25th call-ups in franchise history, respectively
  • Averaged 15.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 29.0 minutes through 79 career games for the D-Fenders, prior to his most recent call-up
  • Is a two-time NBA D-League All-Star selection with L.A.
Manny Harris (2013-14)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 16, 2014, becoming the 16th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 31.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals in 22 games for the D-Fenders in 2013-14
  • Owns career averages of 28.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists with Los Angeles
  • Scored 56 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Feb. 8, 2014, a franchise single-game record; Also is among the top-10 in D-Fenders history for career points
  • Was an NBA D-League All-Star in 2014
  • Veteran of 89 career NBA games
Lazar Hayward (2012-13)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 31, 2012, becoming the 12th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the D-Fenders prior to his call-up
  • Owns career averages of 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists with Los Angeles
  • Veteran of 72 career NBA games
Stephane Lasme (2007-08)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Miami Heat on March 21, 2008, becoming the second call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 37 games with the D-Fenders prior to the call-up
  • Blocked eight shots at Utah on Dec. 15, 2007, setting a single-game franchise record; Is the D-Fenders all-time leader in career blocks
  • Was the 2008 NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year and an All D-League Honorable Mention selection
Jelani McCoy (2007-08)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 29, 2007, becoming the first call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 11.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 blocks in 36 games with the D-Fenders in 2007-08
  • Blocked four shots at Idaho on April 18, 2008, a franchise single-game playoff record
  • Was a 2008 NBA D-League All-Star and All D-League Third Team selection
Jamario Moon (2011-12)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Charlotte Bobcats on April 15, 2012, becoming the 11th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 17.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 12 games with the D-Fenders prior to the call-up
  • Owns career averages of 11.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 53 games with Los Angeles
David Nwaba (2016-17)

  • Earned a pair of NBA Call-Ups to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016-17, the 24th and 26th call-ups in franchise history
  • Averaged 13.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.2 blocks and a 64.5 field goal percentage in 38 games (29 starts) with Los Angeles prior to his first career call-up
  • Set L.A.’s single-game record in offensive rebounds (11) at Texas on Feb. 1, 2017
Ishmael Smith (2011-12)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the Orlando Magic on Feb. 2, 2012, becoming the seventh call-up in franchise history
  • Was signed just hours after joining the D-Fenders and never registered a minute for the team
  • Veteran of more than 350 career NBA games
James Southerland (2013-14)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up to the New Orleans Pelicans on April 11, 2014, becoming the 18th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in 42 games with the D-Fenders prior to his call-up
  • Was an All D-League Rookie Second Team selection in 2014
Malcolm Thomas (2013-14, 2012-13, 2011-12)

  • Received NBA Call-Ups from San Antonio, Houston, Golden State and Chicago during his D-Fenders career
  • His five total call-ups with four different teams is the most for an individual in franchise history
  • Has career averages of 16.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists through four seasons in Los Angeles
  • Set an NBA D-League Finals record by pulling down 25 boards against Austin on April 24, 2012
  • Was an All D-League Rookie First Team and All D-League Defensive First Team selection in 2012, going along with a NBA D-League All-Star pick in 2014
Jamaal Tinsley (2011-12)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up from the Utah Jazz on Dec. 12, 2011, becoming the fourth call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 9.9 points, 7.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds in eight games with the D-Fenders
  • Is the only player to be chosen with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA D-League Draft in D-Fenders history (2011)
Shawne Williams (2013-14)

  • Received an NBA Call-Up from the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 6, 2014, becoming the 17th call-up in franchise history
  • Averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists in 23 career games with the D-Fenders
  • Veteran of more than 300 career NBA games
